Questions about alerts, reports and the map.
Quick answers to the most common questions about using Migrant Report.
Do I need an account to send an alert?
The fast ALERT flow is designed to be quick and does not require the sender to create a normal user account first. Browser location permission may still be required.
How do I receive alerts near me?
Open the alert signup page, enter a UK postcode, choose a radius and verify your email address.
Can I report an incident with a photo?
Yes. The detailed REPORT form can include a description, date and time, location and an optional photo.
What do the red numbers on the map mean?
A numbered red marker means several reports are grouped in the same map area. Open it or zoom in to see the available report cards.
Are reports verified?
Not necessarily. Community reports may be unverified, incomplete or incorrect. A map marker is not proof that a crime occurred.
Does Migrant Report replace calling 999?
No. If somebody is in immediate danger or a crime is in progress, call 999 where possible.
Can I report someone because I think they are a migrant?
No. Reports should be based on observable behaviour or an incident, not race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, language, clothing, accent or perceived immigration status.
Are subscriber details shown publicly?
No. Subscriber contact details are kept private and are not displayed on the public report map.
